🤔 John Just got back from 10 days in China. Settling back into job hunting.

🤔 John It was so interesting! The people were indifferent, curious, and/or friendly, especially outside of the tourist hustles. We stayed close to Tianenmen Square in Beijing, but spent a day walking around local "hutong" neighborhood alleys and saw a bit of daily life and ate many of our meals from killer noodle/dumpling/etc windows and stalls. Had a couple relaxing days between tea fields at Hangzhou West Lake, and a few days in a middle-class neighborhood in Shanghai. Seeing acres of identical 20-30 story apartment buildings convinced me that my ideas about scale are way off. Still processing updates to my mental models!
