🚴 Aditya Just moved my stuff over from my old VPS to a new one on a different provider. In the process, also switched over to flatcar linux with my stuff running on containers. Much cleaner setup now, and easier to maintain!
🧐 Nrmn Nice, I didn't hear of flatcar Linux yet. But what's the big difference between this and any other Linux with Docker and maybe k8s installed?

🚴 Aditya So I'm guessing you're familiar with coreos. This is basically coreos but not EOL.

🧐 Nrmn Yes I know CoreOS and also read about the relationship to Flatcar. But I never tried it and wonder what the difference is that I need a whole distribution instead of some packages that allow you to run containers like executables?

🚴 Aditya For me the benefit is lesser maintenance. There's basically nothing on the host OS to maintain or update. I only have to worry about the container images, which is the case on any other host OS too. I'm sure there are other benefits, especially with more complicated usecases - I just run a couple of services for myself on this one.
